Student-tutor interaction could be said to be the most important aspect to the success of any student learning. Classical lectures, where the room is teacher-focused and involves the one-way transmission of information, leave little opportunity for establishing good student-tutor interaction – particularly with a large class. As a new lecturer, I often felt a wall between the students and myself which was exacerbated by my lack of experience and the insecurity that some students feel when faced with a well qualified researcher – l know I was certainly in awe of some of the professors who taught me as an undergraduate.
